This Life Of Ours

Girls Night Out
Friday night we got a group of girls together to go to Dallas to hear Joyce Meyer speak. It was awesome and of course bold! What an eventful night it was just getting there though! We all thought it would be really fun to take the train from FW to Dallas. It was leaving at 4:38. I left the house at 4:00, plenty of time to get there. I had exact directions, but when I got there, it looked like I was in the ghetto and I didn't think I was at the right place. My other friends had not gotten there yet. To make a long story short, I left to ask for directions and got pretty lost. By the time we all met back at the train it had just taken off. It was going to be stopping again in six minutes so the five of us piled in the car and raced to the next station. We put $10 in to park only to just seconds miss it once again. Well, the other girls were so upset that we had wasted $10 that we spent the next 15 minutes trying to dig the money out of the slot with our earrings. We managed to retrieve have of one $5 bill. It was quite a sight. We ended up paying our parking in Dallas with the ravaged bill after finally deciding just to drive there. Traffic wasn't too bad for a Friday afternoon at 5:00. I was the only one that hadn't left my husband at home with at least one child. As soon as we got in the car to leave they were all on the phone checking on the kids. Oh, what I have to look forward to! Scott called me on our way home to tell me he was hanging out with the guys after work watching the Stars game. I had no worries about him :)

Couples Date Night
These days date night is watching the Mavericks or doing dishes. We lead a fairly uneventful life. However, this past weekend was the Main St. Arts Festival in downtown Fort Worth. Scott had Sunday off, so we decided to head out after an afternoon of grocery shopping. (FYI, it is not a good idea to have a big list of groceries on a Sunday afternoon, Central Market was a mad house.) The arts festival was pretty fun. There were artists from all over...New Mexico, Oregon, California, Maryland and a lot more. I was mostly interested in the jewelry. There were some gorgeous pieces. Unfortunately, I was a few hundred dollars short to actually purchase anything. We got to eat downtown afterwards which we rarely do, even though we only live about 10 minutes away.

Our Careers
He loves working for The Vitamin Shoppe. His boss is getting married this week and Scott will be working overtime, yeah! His job is perfect for him. He loves to organize, be on a schedule, and share his love of vitamins and sports supplements. His boss thinks that he runs the show up there sometimes. Haha! He is pretty passionate about his work and takes it very seriously, I will say that.

I love massage therpy for many of the opposite reasons. I can make my own schedule. I don't have anyone to report. I just love what I do. No matter where I have worked, I have always had the best clients! Another great perk about offering a service is that I have traded for some pretty awesome things....engagement photos, personal training sessions, Pilates, chiropractic care, massage for me, biofeedback, and I am sure there are more. I also really enjoy working with people who need lifestyle and nutritional consulting. It is amazing how much I think I don't know, yet, I seem to be helping people start somewhere to make a change. It is so rewarding!

Taking My Gig On The Road
We have been back in Fort Worth for almost three months now. I decided a few weeks ago it was time for a little visit back to Arkansas. I knew I couldn't go unless I did a few massages while there. I emailed some of my old clients and within an hour I had five appointments scheduled! What a blessing that was. I now have twelve appointments while I am there for five days. I hope I actually get to visit with my friends and family. I am leaving Wednesday. I am hoping Scott will be able to fend for himself. We stocked up on food and he's pretty easy. When he has to cook for himself, his meals consist of something like five boiled eggs and a bowl of peas. Whatever works I guess!

Hannah, It's so fun to read about your life, no matter how unexciting you think it is! Enjoy your trip to Arkansas and tell your sister THANK YOU for adding another girl to the family!
